Margo:
I was introduced to the Lord at a little Baptist Sunday School in Weaverville, California. I received Christ as my Savior in Sunday School when I was 10 years old. As a young person I had a tender heart toward missions and as a young Bible college student I again responded with a willing heart to missions. Gary and I have been involved in ministry most of our 35 years of marriage. Our hearts desire has been to serve him as missionaries in a full-time capacity. Having completed three short-term ministry trips to Kako in the last three summers, God has changed my life! He has made his calling clear and I have no doubt that He is leading us to Kako. He has given me a passion for reaching the families in the Yukon villages for Christ and to reach out with hope and love to hurting people in a very dark place. I am so appreciative that God wants to use me.
Gary:
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 8 years old. After hearing a message preached by our pastor, I wanted to make sure that my name was written in the Book of Life. I went home and knelt beside my mother and received Jesus as my Savior. I told the Lord that I would do whatever He wanted me to do. After graduating from Western Baptist College, I served as youth pastor, senior pastor and elder for 35 years. Two years ago I led a Bible study by Rick Warren on “The Purpose Driven Life”. As a result, we, along with several couples from that group, went on a short-term missionary trip to Kako. God gave us the desire to return to Kako the following summer and I served as the Bible teacher for three teen camps. He has filled my heart with a desire to serve these people as a full-time missionary. I am so thankful that God has called us to this ministry.
